Simple! Just open your Steam client, head to your Library, find XCOM 2, and if there's an update available, it should automatically start downloading. If it doesn't, right-click on XCOM 2, go to Properties, and ensure 'Always keep this game up to date' is selected in the Updates tab.

Steam updates automatically. If XCOM 2 isn't updating, restart Steam or check your internet connection.

I've been playing XCOM 2 for years! Just go to your Steam Library, locate XCOM 2, and there will be an update button if one's available. Steam takes care of the rest!
