From my experience, focus on Daily Missions and Events for Z Power - they give the most bang for your buck. Helps you upgrade faster!
To upgrade your cards in Dragon Ball Legends, you need to use Z Power and Souls. Collect Z Power by summoning characters and completing missions, then use them to Limit Break your characters, which powers up their stats! You also need Souls, which you can get from story missions, to boost card levels in the Soul Boost menu.
Souls and Z Power! Grab 'em from story missions and summons. That's the secret sauce to upgrading.
