Use the 'Edit Profile' option and click on 'Change Profile Photo.' Then, select 'Choose from Library,' pick your photo, and resize it to fit the circle. Insta crops it, so you might lose a bit around the edges.
Just upload a square photo and call it a day. Instagram loves squares.
