You can use a PS2 controller on a PS3 by getting a USB adapter. Plug the PS2 controller into the adapter, then plug the adapter into the PS3. Voilà, you're all set!

Just grab a PS2 to PS3 USB adapter from Amazon or your local electronics store. Connect your PS2 controller through it, and game on!

I've been using my PS2 controller on my PS3 with a cheap USB adapter for years! Works like a charm for games that don't need motion controls.
