Nope, Darling in the Franxx isn't based on Pacific Rim. While they both have giant mechs and monstrous foes, their storylines and themes are quite different. Darling in the Franxx focuses more on relationships and human connection, while Pacific Rim is more about action and kaiju battles.

Not exactly. Darling in the Franxx and Pacific Rim both feature giant robots fighting monsters, but that's about where the similarities end. Franxx has its own unique plot and character development.

Absolutely not! Darling in the Franxx has a very unique storyline, even though both series have mech battles.

I watched both and can say they're totally different beasts. Darling in the Franxx is more about the characters' journey and their emotional struggles, while Pacific Rim is a straight-up monster brawl with robots.
