I tried playing Pokémon GO on PC using BlueStacks, and it worked, but it felt kinda weird not walking around. Plus, I was always paranoid about getting banned.

You technically can, but it's not recommended. Niantic's got a pretty strict policy against emulators, and you risk getting banned.
