Mostly nope! While the Steam Deck itself is a cool gadget that lets you carry your PC games around, the games you play on it aren't automatically free. You gotta purchase them on Steam, just like you would for your desktop. But hey, there are some free-to-play gems on there, so not all hope is lost!

Actually, there are free games available on Steam that you can enjoy on the Steam Deck. It's just like using Steam on a PC; there are tons of free-to-play games, but premium games will still require a purchase.

Free games on Steam Deck? Well, the device itself doesn't magically make all games free. You buy games on Steam as usual. But, there are plenty of free-to-play games on Steam that work great on the Deck.

No, not really. The Steam Deck is a portable PC, so the whole 'free games' thing isn't any different than on your desktop. You'll find a mix of free and paid games on Steam.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
