The launch models of the PS3 (20GB and 60GB) were indeed backwards compatible with PS2 games, but later models dropped this feature.

Yep, the early PS3 models (20GB and 60GB) could play PS2 games, whereas the later Slim and Super Slim models lost this capability.

Only some of the initial models were. The later ones, not so much.

I had one of the original PS3 models and it played PS2 games like a champ! But my friend's Slim model... not so much.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
