Gems are pretty much currency for the parts of Steam you never knew you needed till you dive deep into its ecosystem. They're a cool way to recycle your inventory's clutter into something that could actually win you more games or swag.

Nah, gems are overrated. Just sell your stuff on the market and buy what you want directly. Gems complicate things for no real benefit.

Gems on Steam are basically like arcade tokens but for the digital space. You can craft them by breaking down unwanted game items or trading cards in your inventory, or you can trade them with other players. Then, you use these shiny little digital jewels to bid on games during Steam's Holiday Auctions or to create booster packs of trading cards. It's like turning your digital dust into treasure!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
