Dragon Ball Z is the original series with lots of episodes, including filler arcs. Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remastered version with less filler and improved quality, making it snappier and more focused on the main story.
I've watched both! DBZ can take its sweet time with side stories, but Kai moves at light speed and looks prettier too.
Kai is just Z on caffeine. Cut out the fluff and gave us the good stuff!
