YLOD stands for Yellow Light of Death on the PS3. It's a general hardware failure indicator, often due to overheating or soldering issues.

The Yellow Light of Death (YLOD) on PS3 is basically its version of the red ring of death on Xbox 360. It means hardware failure, most commonly due to overheating, and often signifies the end for that console. RIP, little buddy.

Had a PS3 that got the YLOD. It's a general hardware failure, mostly caused by overheating. Time to call a repair shop or upgrade to a PS5!

Just put it in the oven to reflow the solder! (not really, but some people actually do this).

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
