Hey there! Generally, most Indian food is allowed in the US. However, certain ingredients like fresh curry leaves or some homemade pickles might get caught up in customs due to import restrictions on fresh produce and non-commercial food items.

Raw spices are good, but you can't bring in fresh curry leaves or other fresh produce鈥攖hey're a big no-no at customs.

From personal experience, I'd say avoid trying to bring homemade mithai (Indian sweets) into the US. Customs gets touchy about dairy-based items.

Hot take: Unless you're trying to bring in the rarest of masalas or something super perishable, most Indian food will be a-okay in the US.
