Try to get the original box, charger, and accessories if possible. It'll make the whole setup way more complete and reliable.

Make sure the battery holds a charge! A used Steam Deck with a dead battery is basically just an expensive paperweight.

Honestly, just confirm it powers on and runs a game decently. Everything else is just gravy.

First thing's first鈥攃heck for any obvious physical damage like cracks or scratches. Give the buttons, joysticks, and touchscreen a good test drive to make sure they're all working smoothly.

Double-check the serial number with Valve support to ensure it's not stolen and still under warranty if possible.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
