First off, you gotta research Elerium which unlocks the next tier of tech. Then, Plasma Rifle becomes available for research. You'll need to complete the Modular Weapons and Gauss Weapons research first!

Go straight for Gauss Weapons and then Elerium. Plasma Weapons will be unlocked right after that. Happy alien hunting!

Research Elerium and Gauss Weapons before you can get to Plasma Weapons. Trust me, you’ll be shredding aliens with those bad boys!

Research Elerium first, then Magnetic Weapons, and finally Plasma Weapons. It’s a bit of a grind, but totally worth it when you start one-shotting aliens!
