The original 20GB and 60GB models of the PS3 (the ones released in 2006) have true hardware-based backward compatibility with PS2 games!

Only the very first PS3 models, specifically the 20GB and 60GB versions, can play PS2 discs natively.

Just buy a PS2 if you really want to play PS2 games. It's way simpler and often cheaper!

I still have my old 60GB PS3 from launch, and it plays PS2 games like a dream. Worth it if you can find one.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
