Why does Steam think I am a robot?

Steam's just paranoid. It throws CAPTCHAs at you if it thinks you're moving too quickly, like some kind of cyber Usain Bolt. Slow down, and you'll likely avoid triggering its robot radar.

It's because sometimes, we're just too efficient for our own good. I was zipping through purchases and market listings like lightning last week, and bam, got hit with the 'prove you're not a robot' test. Slow and steady wins the race here, folks.

Looks like Steam's just being super cautious! It's all about keeping your account safe. When you're doing something that feels a bit unusual or speedy, like rapid clicks or moving through pages faster than The Flash, Steam's security system raises a red flag. It's like, 'Whoa, buddy, only robots (or superhumans!) move this fast.' Just prove you're a mere mortal by solving a CAPTCHA, and you'll be back to gaming in no time.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
