First, check if your charger and cable are working with other devices. Sometimes it's just a faulty cable, so try swapping it out if you can!

Make sure you're using the original charger. Some third-party chargers just don't play nice with the Steam Deck.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be lint in the charging port. Use a toothpick (gently!) to clean it out.
