If you want to play Xenoblade Chronicles, you'll have to upgrade to a New 3DS. The old 3DS hardware isn't compatible.

Nope, you need a New Nintendo 3DS or New Nintendo 3DS XL to play Xenoblade Chronicles. The older 3DS models just can't handle it.
