To get the best ending in Fallout 4, you kinda gotta play Switzerland for as long as possible. Keep all the major factions (Brotherhood of Steel, Railroad, and Minutemen) happy until you absolutely have to choose. Make sure you're always doing those radiant quests and building up good will because, in the end, siding with the Minutemen and keeping both the Brotherhood and the Railroad alive is generally seen as the best outcome.
