How to have two companions in Fallout 4
Technically, you can't have two human (or humanoid) companions simultaneously due to the game's design. However, you can kinda bend the rules. Here's a fun workaround: You can have one regular companion and your faithful dog, Dogmeat, at the same time. This isn't a glitch; it seems like the developers intentionally made Dogmeat an exception to the one-companion rule. So, go ahead, roam the wasteland with your favorite NPC and your loyal doggo by your side!

Nope, you can only have one companion at a time in Fallout 4. That's the rule. But Dogmeat doesn't count against this limit, so enjoy the company!
As someone who's sunk hundreds of hours into Fallout 4, I've tried every trick in the book to get around the one-companion rule. The closest thing to having two companions is pairing any of the game's companions with Dogmeat. Works like a charm and makes for good company during those long scavenging runs.
