How to Plant Mutfruit in Fallout 4
Just slam that mutfruit into the ground in your settlement. Well, not literally, but go to the build mode, pick 'Resources' then 'Food', and if you've got mutfruit, it'll show up there. Plop it down, find some poor soul wandering your settlement to tend to it, and voila!

Planting mutfruit in Fallout 4 is super easy! First, make sure you have a mutfruit in your inventory - you can find them scattered around the Commonwealth or buy them from traders.
