How to Put Fusion Cell in Power Armor in Fallout 4
Just walk up to your power armor with the fusion core in your inventory. There should be a prompt to insert it when you interact with the back of the armor. Basically, it's like plugging in a very deadly toaster, easy peasy!

Actually, it's fusion cores, not cells, that you need for the power armor. Make sure you've got one in your inventory, approach the suit, and the game kinda guides you from there. If you're out in the wasteland without one, those suits are just glorified metal statues.
You don't need any fancy tricks or console commands. Just have a fusion core (not cell) and make sure you're at the back of the power armor. A prompt will magically appear to 'Enter Power Armor' when you have the core. It's almost like the game wants you to become a walking tank.
Hot take: Forget the fusion core. Grab a hazmat suit and save those cores for running settlements or selling. Who needs power armor when you can sneak and snipe?
