How to Scrap Inventory in Fallout 4
To scrap your inventory items in Fallout 4, head over to any settlement you've got control over. Look for a workshop bench or a weapon/armor crafting station. Open the crafting interface, and you'll see an option to scrap weapons, armor, and junk items for parts. Just be careful not to scrap something you wanted to keep!

Quick tip: You can't scrap everything directly from your personal inventory. Drop the items on the ground in a settlement first, then enter workshop mode by holding down the 'Change View' or 'Touchpad' button. Aim at the item on the ground, and you should see the option to scrap it. This method works great for scrapping items that the crafting stations won't let you.
Actually, just sell 'em. Scrapping gives materials, but selling gives caps. You'll need caps more than random screws and leather patches. Plus, you can't buy sweet power armor with steel shavings.
As someone who's been through the Commonwealth more times than I can count, scrapping in your inventory directly isn't a thing. Use those crafting stations in settlements to break down weapons and armor, or just drop and scrap for the rest. It's resource management 101 in the wasteland!
