Ah, the magic of Place Anywhere! For this to work, you're gonna need a mod called 'Place Anywhere/Everywhere' which you can easily find on popular mod sites like Nexus Mods. After installing this mod, simply press the key (usually 'F2' after installation, but check the mod's instructions to be sure) while in the build mode, and voila! You can now place objects outside the normal boundaries, making your base look exactly how you've always wanted.
