Destroying the Nucleus in Fallout 4 sends the Children of Atom to their Great Divide and leaves a big ol' crater in its place. It's a major blow to one of the groups in the Far Harbor DLC and pretty much ends their storyline in a bang. Plus, it shakes things up with the island's power balance.

Honestly, not much, apart from changing the story a bit and making a dent in the landscape. Fallout 4's world is so big, there are plenty of other things to do and places to explore.

Lighting up the Nucleus is essentially Fallout's version of a mic drop. It dramatically concludes one of the game's faction stories and visually alters the map. It's a reminder of the impact player choices have in the game.

Blow up the Nucleus? Say goodbye to the Children of Atom and hello to a massive crater. Fallout's way of saying choices have big consequences.
