Where to get cloth in Fallout 4
You really got two ways: scavenging or buying. For scavenging, hit up any old building or house – they’re full of cloth from random items. But if you're not into the whole 'collecting junk' lifestyle, just head to a vendor. Goodneighbor and Diamond City have vendors who sell shipments of cloth. It ain't cheap, but it saves time.

Honestly, just pick up everything. Half the stuff you trip over in the wasteland has cloth in it. Can’t walk two feet without stumbling onto some teddy bear or pre-war suit that’s packed with cloth.
Cloth is pretty much everywhere in Fallout 4, but you gotta know where to look. Pre-war money is like the gold mine for cloth, and you can find tons of it in old buildings and safes. Also, don't overlook the obvious - pick up all the junk! Things like teddy bears, baseballs, and old newspapers are great sources of cloth. Just hoard all the junk you can find, and you'll be swimming in cloth in no time. Oh, and remember to scrap items at the workbench to actually get the cloth.
