Are auras targeted in MTG?
Absolutely, auras in MTG definitely target when they're being cast! Think of it like casting a magical spell on a creature or whatever you're enchanting. You pick your target when you cast the aura, but once it's on the battlefield, it's locked in. So, if your opponent has some sneaky way to make their creature an invalid target as you're casting it, your aura spell will fizzle out into the magical ether.

Nope, not always. Once they're on the field, auras don't keep targeting. They just chill on whatever they were attached to, no ongoing targeting there.
Quick note: Auras target when casting, but be wary of those with 'Hexproof' or 'Shroud.' Your aura spells can't touch those!
