Nope, once they hit the field, they're not spells. Spells are what you're casting from your hand, but once they're on the battlefield doing their thing, they're permanents, not spells. Simple as that.

Sorta! In Magic The Gathering, when you cast a permanent (like a creature, artifact, enchantment, planeswalker, or land), it's considered a spell while it's on the stack鈥攎eaning before it actually hits the battlefield. Once it's on the battlefield, it's no longer considered a spell but a permanent ready to do battle!

As someone who's spent way too much money on MTG over the years, yes, everything you cast is technically a spell until it resolves. Been corrected on this by my local game store's MTG guru more times than I care to admit!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
