Can a Defender Block a Flying Creature in MTG?
Nope, defenders without flying or reach can't block creatures with flying. It's like trying to swat a fly with a broom - not gonna work unless you've got the reach!

Only if they have reach or flying themselves. Otherwise, those flying creatures are swooping over unschathed.
Actually, it's not about the defender tag at all. Any creature can block as long as it has flying or reach. Those grounded without it are just outta luck against flyers.
