Nope, you can't equip a teammate's creature in a regular game of MTG. Equipment spells specify that you can only attach them to creatures you control. Unless a card specifically states otherwise or you're playing a format with special rules that allow it, your equipment stays on your side of the battlefield.

Hot take: Why would you want to? Keep your goodies to yourself and let your teammate worry about their creatures!

Actually, I tried this in a casual game thinking it could work based on a misunderstanding of the rules. Turns out, the game mechanics are clear: you control your equipment and can only attach it to your own creatures. Learned that lesson the hard way!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
