Yeah, you can! I had a game where my opponent thought they'd slickly awaken their land creature during their turn. Jokes on them, I responded with a counter spell. The look on their face was priceless. Always keep an instant up your sleeve for moments like this.

Absolutely, you can respond to an awakening in MTG! When someone plays an awakening spell or triggers an awakening ability, it goes on the stack just like any other spell or ability. This means you've got a chance to respond before the awakening effect resolves. You can play instants or activate abilities in response. Just remember timing is key - once the awakening resolves, you'll have to deal with whatever woke up.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
