Mostly yes, but it depends. Altered art cards in MTG are cool but can be a gray area in official competitions. The main rule is the card should be recognizable and its text readable. Judges at the event have the final say, so if your card's art doesn't obscure any vital info and doesn't alter the thickness or feel (no unfair shuffling advantage), you're probably good. But always check with your tournament's rules before rocking up with a deck full of masterpieces.

Short answer: It's risky. If your altered art MTG card looks too different from the original, a judge might not let you use it in a competion. Stick to the originals to play it safe.

I've played with altered art cards in tournaments before and never had an issue. Just make sure the alterations aren't too crazy and the card is still easily identifiable. Judges have complimented my deck's aesthetics more than once!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
