Can X be less than zero in Magic The Gathering?
Absolutely! In Magic The Gathering (MTG), X can indeed be less than zero due to effects that reduce the cost of a spell or ability. However, when it comes to casting spells or activating abilities, if X is less than zero, it's treated as 0. You won't find spells with X costing less than 0 mana, but cost reductions can lead to some confusing situations where X appears negative. Just remember, in those cases, X defaults to 0.

X can't be less than zero when you're paying mana costs. If you've got a spell that says 'Pay X mana,' and you've got effects that reduce that cost, you might end up 'owing' less mana, but you still can't cast a spell for less than 0 mana! So, if reductions would make X negative, it's just zero.
Nope, X can't be negative. If cost reductions make X go below zero, it rounds up to zero - that's the rule!
