Yeah, you can counter pretty much anything in MTG if you've got the right card. I once stopped an Encore with a "Disallow" and the look on my opponent's face was priceless. Always be ready with a counter.

Absolutely, you can counter Encore! Just like any other activated or triggered ability in Magic The Gathering, you can use cards that specifically say they can counter abilities, not just spells. So grab your "Stifle" or "Tale's End" and stop that Encore in its tracks. Remember, timing and knowing when to play your counters are key in MTG!
