Can you counter spells after they're played in MTG?

Absolutely, countering spells is a core part of Magic The Gathering's strategic depth! You can do this by using counter spells like 'Counterspell' itself, 'Negate', or 'Dissolve'. Just remember, you need to have the counter spell ready in your hand and enough mana to cast it when your opponent plays their spell.

Yeah, countering spells is totally a thing. But timing is everything! You gotta play your counter spell in response to theirs, which means it has to be during the stack phase. If you miss that timing, say bye-bye to your chance to block their spell.

Nope, once it's on the table, it's too late. You gotta catch it in the air, metaphorically speaking. That means right after they play it and before it resolves.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
