Nope, you can't just toss cards whenever you feel like it in MTG. You only discard down to your max hand size at the end of your turn or due to a card's effect or rule that makes you do it. So, no wild card throwing, keep your hand in check!

Actually, no. Discarding is not a free-for-all action. It's pretty specific to certain phases or card instructions. You're basically at the mercy of the game rules or those sneaky cards that force your hand (pun intended).
Discard at any time? Wishful thinking! There's no free discard pass. It's either end of turn cleanup or because a card effect says so.
