Can you go into negative life in MTG?
Yep, you can definitely dip into the negatives in Magic The Gathering. However, the moment you hit 0 or less, you're out of the game according to the rules. So, while you can technically have negative life, it's like having a high score in losing - it means game over, buddy.

No way, once you hit zero, that's it. Game over. Think of zero as the Magic The Gathering equivalent of 'you shall not pass.'
Absolutely can go negative, but it's a short trip. Was playing a game where I dropped to -5 thanks to a bunch of delayed damage. Felt like I was hanging by a thread... a thread that was already cut. So yeah, negatives happen, but they're your last scenic view before the loss.
