In MTG, 'play' and 'cast' are similar but not exactly the same. You 'cast' spells (including creatures, instants, sorceries, etc.), which involves paying their mana cost and putting them on the stack. 'Play' refers to either putting a land onto the battlefield during your turn or casting a spell. So, all casts are plays, but not all plays are casts. Basically, casting is a type of playing.

Nope. When you 'play' a card, it could be a land or casting a spell. But 'cast' is just for spells. Think of it like every square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square scenario!

Casting is just for spells. When you 'play' a card, you could be doing more than just casting鈥攊t includes dropping lands too. So, not the same thing!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
