In Magic The Gathering, a card becomes monstrous through an activated ability called 'monstrosity'. When you activate this ability, usually by paying a certain amount of mana, you put a number of +1/+1 counters on the creature if it isn't already monstrous. Once a creature becomes monstrous, it can't become monstrous again, meaning you can't keep adding counters by activating the ability multiple times. It's a one-time deal that can really beef up your creature!

Actually, making a creature monstrous isn't always the best play. Sure, it gets bigger, but savvy opponents can use that moment to bounce or remove your now precious monstrous creature. Use with caution!

Short and sweet: You pay mana to activate a creature's monstrosity ability, it gets +1/+1 counters, and becomes monstrous. Can't do it twice. Monster up and win!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
