How Does Braid of Fire Work in MTG?
Braid of Fire is a bit of a throwback to the ol' mana burn days, but now it's all upside! Each upkeep, it gives you red mana equal to the number of age counters on it. The catch? This mana empties from your pool as steps and phases end. It's great for instant spells and abilities requiring red mana. Essentially, you're getting a free mana boost each turn after it's played!

Actually, Braid of Fire isn't that great unless you've got a deck built around using that mana efficiently. Without instant speed options or mana sinks, that mana just goes to waste.
