How does Double Major work in MTG?
Hot take: Double Major is kinda overrated. Sure, it sounds cool to copy your best creature, but it's super situational and takes up space that could be used for more versatile spells. Use it if you've got a deck built around a few key creatures, otherwise, there are better cards to include.

Double Major is a clutch card when you're about to clone your creature spells. When you cast a creature spell, slap Double Major onto it from your hand and boom, you've got yourself a copy of that creature, except it's not legendary if the original was. The trick is, Double Major has to be cast right as you're casting your creature spell, kind of like a +1 to your spell casting routine. It doesn't work on creatures that are already lounging on the battlefield, so timing is everything.
From personal experience, Double Major can be a game changer in creature-heavy decks. I used it in a Simic (green/blue) deck built around powerful enter-the-battlefield effects. Copying a creature that has a strong effect when it enters the battlefield, essentially doubling the fun, can really swing the game in your favor. Plus, who doesn't love seeing double of their favorite creature on the field?
