In Magic The Gathering, when you stack two negatives it doesn't exactly work like math class. Instead of turning into a positive, the two effects just cancel each other out. So if you've got a spell that says 'Your opponent can't cast spells this turn' and you play another that says 'Players can't cast spells,' nothing changes. Your opponent still can't cast spells, and neither can you!

Double negative in MTG? It's simpler than it sounds. No double positives here, mate. If an effect says 'creatures lose flying' and another says 'creatures can't gain flying,' you just end up with a bunch of grounded creatures. No flying allowed, period.

Actually, double negatives in MTG don't always cancel out. It depends on the wording and context. Always read the cards carefully.

Double negatives in Magic The Gathering just mean both effects apply. If both say something can't happen, well, it really can't happen.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
