How does Equipoise work in Magic The Gathering?

Equipoise is a pretty unique white enchantment card in MTG that can really mess with the balance of the game - in a fun way, of course! At the beginning of your upkeep, for each land, creature, and artifact that the player with the most of that type controls more than each other player, they choose one of that type they control and phase it out. Basically, if your opponent has more creatures, lands, or artifacts than anyone else, they have to phase out some until they're equal to the player who has the least of those. It doesn’t remove the cards from the game; it just makes them untouchable and invisible until your next turn. It forces players to play more strategically, especially if they're ahead!

Equipoise phases out excess lands, creatures, and artifacts of the player who's got more than anyone else during your upkeep. It's like a weird game of balancing scales where you don't get to play with your extra toys until your next turn. Short story: Great way to annoy opponents who like to hoard!

Honestly, Equipoise? Too much math involved just to make things 'fair'. Just play big creatures and smash.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
