Surge in a multiplayer MTG game works exactly the same way it does in a two-player game. The key is that you or a teammate has cast another spell earlier in the same turn. This allows you to pay the surge cost of the card instead of its mana cost, which is usually much cheaper! So, if you're teaming up or just playing in a big free-for-all, keep track of those spells being cast. It can lead to some really cost-effective plays!

Short version: Surge triggers if you or anybody on your team has cast a spell before it in the same turn, even in multiplayer. Makes for some sweet deals on spells!

Honestly, Surge becomes even more fun in multiplayer. More players = more spells being slung around before it's your turn again. It's like everything's on sale if you time it right.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
