The Monarch is a title a player can gain during a game of Magic The Gathering, which grants them the ability to draw an extra card at the beginning of their end step. A player becomes the Monarch usually by casting a spell or using an ability that specifically mentions gaining the Monarch. Once you're the Monarch, you keep this title until another player deals combat damage to you, at which point they steal the title and become the new Monarch.

Basically, being the Monarch lets you draw extra cards, but it also puts a target on your back. The only way to become the Monarch is through card effects, and once you're it, you gotta protect yourself! If another player hits you, they snatch the crown and the extra card draw per turn. So, suit up your defenses!

Just play a card that says you become the Monarch, LOL. Then, enjoy drawing an extra card each turn until someone deals damage to you. Easy.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
