How does the stack work with minus counters in MTG?
Alrighty, the stack in MTG is pretty much like a magical stack of pancakes. Each spell or ability that's cast gets its own pancake layer. Now, for minus counters, when you cast something that puts minus counters on a creature, it goes on top of the stack. If someone has a response, like trying to save their creature or negate your spell, that goes on top. Once everyone's done adding to the stack, you start resolving from the top down. So, if your minus counter spell or ability is at the top with no responses above it, those minus counters go onto the creature as the stack starts to resolve.

The stack? It's all about timing and order. Minus counters are no exception. You play your spell, it hits the stack, and opponents can react. If no one does, or after all responses resolve, your minus counters do their dirty work. Easy peasy.
Magic's stack doesn't care if it's minus counters or plus counters; it treats them all the same. You throw a spell out there, it waits its turn on the stack, and counters only hit the creature if nothing stops the spell or ability from resolving. Basically, it's like any other spell waiting in line at the DMV.
