Short and sweet: Standard MTG tournaments? Usually 4-5 hours for local ones. Big events? Buckle up for a full day affair.

Standard MTG tournaments can last anywhere from 3 to 8 hours depending on the number of rounds and participants. Most local tournaments wrap up in about 4-5 hours, but larger events with more rounds can stretch out longer. Each match within the tournament is usually best-of-three games, with around 50 minutes allocated per match. So, the more players, the longer the event!

From personal experience, the duration can really vary. I've been to a standard tourney that zipped by in just under 4 hours, but I've also attended a massive one that lasted almost the whole day. It really depends on what you're attending – a cozy local game night or a gigantic, competitive showdown.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
