For a proper MTG draft, you'll need at least 8 players. This number allows for a good distribution of cards and a competitive balance. Each player gets 3 booster packs to start, and you pass the packs around the table, selecting one card at a time. Though 8 is ideal, you can technically draft with as few as 6, but the dynamics change a bit.

Just gonna throw this out there - I've had a blast drafting with just 4 people before. It's not traditional, and the decks can get a bit wacky, but if you're looking for a fun night and only have a few friends around, it's totally doable.

8 players, no question. Anything less and you're not getting the full experience. MTG drafts are designed around this number for a reason.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
