So, MTG judges don't get paid in the traditional sense, like a salary. Instead, they often receive compensation in the form of booster packs, exclusive Magic: The Gathering merchandise, or store credit. It really depends on the event organizer and the level of the tournament. The bigger the event, the bigger the swag might be!

Actually, at larger, premier events, judges can receive daily stipends. This isn't the norm for your local game shop tourney but can happen at big international competitions. However, it's more about the experience and being part of the community than making bank.

They don't get paid cash. It's all about the love for the game and some cool perks like cards and merch.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
