Is summoning a creature considered casting a spell in MTG?
Yep, in MTG, summoning a creature is definitely considered casting a spell. Every time you play a creature card from your hand, you're casting a creature spell. The cool part? It means your creature spells can be countered by spell counters, and they also trigger abilities that activate 'whenever you cast a spell.' So, summon away, but watch out for those sneaky counterspells!

Of course it's a spell. Every card you play that's not a land is technically a spell. That includes creatures, enchantments, sorceries, instants, you name it. If you're laying it down and it's not just another piece of the battlefield, you're casting a spell, buddy.
No way, creatures are creatures, spells are spells. Why complicate things?
